Outreach & Recruitment

In addition to supporting current college students, we go into the community to arm expecting and parenting high school students with information that will help them to consider college as a true option.

College-Readiness Workshops

Our college-readiness workshops provide basic college admissions and financial aid information to expecting and parenting high school students across the Washington, D.C. Metro Area.  Students will also receive an overview of the Generation Hope Scholar Program.  We offer these free workshops on site at public and charter schools, churches, nonprofits, and social service agencies.  If you work with teen parents and are interested in having Generation Hope conduct a college-readiness workshop for your clients, please contact Director of Programming Caroline Griswold Short at 202-642-5649 or caroline@supportgenerationhope.org.

The Hope Conference

The Generation Hope Hope Conference provides current Generation Hope Scholars with the best tools and information for personal, academic, and professional success. In addition, the Conference also includes a track for expecting or parenting high school juniors in the Greater Washington Area who are contemplating college. This track encourages them to attend college and provides them with the information that they need to make applying/attending college as easy as possible.  The 2015 conference took place on June 24th.  The 2016 Hope Conference is being planned now. Stay tuned for more information!
