Alliance of Youth Advocates, wrote an article about the alarming number of homeless youth in DC who are young parents under the age of 24. 47%. Nearly half. These young parents are couch surfing, pouring into homeless shelters, and sleeping on the streets with their little ones. One of the main causes for this? Lack of education.
This statistic makes a compelling case for our work and for the importance of investing in young parents. I think we can all agree that young parents and their children need a roof over their heads, and one of the best ways to make this happen is through a college degree.
