Bianca Villatoro
Family Program Coordinator

Bianca is excited and honored to serve young, teen parents at Generation Hope. Bianca graduated from George Washington University with her degree in Psychology and Dance. After college, Bianca has served a couple of non-profit organizations such as Volo City Foundation, Sasha Bruce Youthwork, CASA de Maryland, and Catholic Charities. Throughout her non-profit work and personal creative hobbies, Bianca enjoys using her time, talents, and treasures to give back to underserved communities in the greater DC area. Additionally, growing up, Bianca witnessed the pains and gains of being a teen parent in college through her single-parent sister. Bianca had always admired the resilience and hard work that motivated her sister to finish college, get a great job during and after college, and continue to support her son. Prior to working at Generation Hope, Bianca served as a Navigator Case Worker at Catholic Charities DC, where she used her case management and social work skills to connect low-income newcomers to resources and opportunities that reduced barriers and improved quality of living. Today, Bianca hopes to improve the quality of life among Scholars and families served at Generation Hope, by breaking down barriers and paving a way for academic and professional excellence.

Quote:

“Your greatness is not what you have, it’s what you give.” — Unknown

Why I chose this quote:

To me this quote speaks on the value of greatness in the act of charity (giving). Oftentimes, we associate greatness with how much we own in wealth or success, rather than how we use our time, talents, and treasures to give. This quote reminds me that when we act in charity, we grow in virtue, and in turn, in greatness. Whether it be a listening ear, a helping hand, or kind words, the act of giving has the power to inspire hope, joy, and purpose in others, which is far more memorable and valuable than anything else.
